Valence Alpes International Challenge – Preview
9th June 2026 by Robert McLean
James Robertson will be Scotland’s sole representative at the inaugural Valence Alpes International in France this week, as he takes his place in a strong international field featuring several players ranked inside the world’s top 50.
Robertson begins his campaign on Thursday in the Round of 64 qualifying stage, where he faces a fascinating opening test against home favourite Lenny Hubert. The talented French youngster, just 16 years old, has already broken into the world’s top 550 and is regarded as one of the country’s brightest prospects.
The match promises to be an intriguing contest, with Robertson looking to spoil the home support and make a positive start to his tournament. The pair are scheduled to take to Court 2 for the 11th match of the day.
Fans can follow all the action live on Badminton Europe TV, which streams matches from the tournament. The platform is the official streaming service of the Badminton Europe Federation.
Everyone at home wishes James the very best of luck for the week ahead in Valence.
