VICTOR Denmark Open Preview: Scots Ready for Another World Tour Challenge
12th October 2026 by Robert McLean
Fresh off some impressive performances in Finland last week, members of the Scottish squad head to the beautiful Danish city of Odense this week for the prestigious VICTOR Denmark Open, a HSBC BWF World Tour Super 750 event.
With the world’s best players set to take to the court, Scotland’s representatives will be looking to build on their recent performances as they prepare to test themselves against some of badminton’s elite.
At the time of writing, the tournament schedule has yet to be released, but both Scottish pairings have been handed challenging opening-round draws.
In the women’s doubles, Ciara and Julie will face Hong Kong’s Yeung and Yeung, currently ranked world number 19. It promises to be a tough opening encounter for the Scottish duo as they look to make their mark on the international stage.
Meanwhile, in the mixed doubles, Alex and Julie face an equally demanding challenge. They have been drawn against Denmark’s Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Bøje, the world number three pairing and Europe’s top-ranked mixed doubles partnership. It will be a stern test for the Scots as they begin their campaign against some of the leading names in the discipline.
The team will once again be led by National Coach Robert Blair, providing support and guidance as the players take on another major international challenge.
Play is due to get underway tomorrow, with fans able to follow the action live via BWF TV on YouTube.
We wish all our players the very best of luck in Odense as they prepare to take on badminton’s elite at one of the sport’s most prestigious tournaments.
