What is on in Season 2026/27
Season 2026/27 is now upon us and we have an exciting and action-packed tournament calendar to look forward to, with some exciting new events for players to add to their diaries. One of the most exciting developments is the introduction of a new National Badminton League (NBL), which will be played across the course of three separate weekends: 17 & 18 October, 16 & 17 January and 15 & 16 May.
The pilot in 2026/27 will feature three separate leagues, each with six teams. The leagues will be aimed at senior Gold, Silver and Bronze standard players and if successful, we plan to expand the competition in the future.
Clubs can also look forward to the Scottish Cup, with regional qualifying set to take place over the weekend of 3 & 4 April and the finals being held on 5 & 6 June. After the success of the inaugural event last season, the Tartan Cup will also return, with the finals being held on 29 & 30 May.
We have a packed senior tournament calendar, with ever increasing numbers of Silver, Bronze and Copper tournaments across the country. There is also now the added incentive of end of season circuit finals at Gold, Silver, Bronze and Copper levels, which will be held on 12 & 13 June. Stay tuned for more information on this as the season unfolds.
The Scottish Open will take place from 19-22 November and the Scottish International Masters from 22-24 January, which this time around will include the biennial Scotland v England International match for the Robert McCoig Trophy.
There are a further six Masters age group tournaments scheduled throughout the season, along with various junior age group tournaments at National, Gold, Silver and Bronze level, and with various disability competitions also in the calendar there is something for everyone to look forwards to, no matter their age or level of ability.
