Entries open for National Masters and U11 National Juniors

Entries are now open for the first two National events of the new season – the U11 National Juniors and the National Masters Championships.

The U11 Nationals will be held at Scotstoun’s National Badminton Academy on Sunday 6 October. The closing date for entries is Monday 16 September and further information about the event, including how to enter, can be found here.

Although it is classed as a National Championships the emphasis is very much on participation.

Matches are initially played in groups, followed by a knock-out competition. But rather than only the group winners progressing to the knock-out draws, every player will get the opportunity to progress with group winners progressing to knockout draw A, runners-up progressing to the B knock-out draw and so on, depending on the number of players/pairs in each event.

This ensures all players have the opportunity to play lots of matches against opponents of a similar ability.

At the other end of the age spectrum, the National Masters Championships will be played at the Sir Craig Reedie Centre on 2 & 3 November. The entry deadline is Monday 14 October and you can find more information here.
