sportscotland’s Community Club Coach of the Year 2022 and SEMSA Treasurer and Trustee Rajani Tyagi said: “It was a big day for women’s Badminton and sports. It being the first of its kind it was very well attended and shows how Badminton and sport can bring communities together. The day showed how women can work as a team, as well as the effort and resilience they can show when given a chance. We hope to run this as an annual event “celebrating women in badminton and sport”. About the tournament

In partnership with SEMSA (Scottish Ethnic Minority Sports Association), we are held our first Women’s Community Badminton Tournament for those aged 16+ on Saturday 3 June at The Sir Craig Reedie Badminton Centre.

There were had 34 ladies who participated in this tournament and it was a great day all round, from those picking up a racket for the first time in a while, to those competing against familiar faces from the badminton community – it was both a comfortable and supportive environment for all.
