Badminton Scotland have launched The Badminton Scotland Channel on subscription-free sports and entertainment streaming platform, Recast.
Recast’s unique microtransactional model uses an in-platform credit system, ‘cast credits’. Badminton fans can purchase casts as well as earn them by watching adverts, sharing content or inviting friends to join. The platform allows viewers to watch the matches they want without committing to a subscription.
A one-time purchase of any match allows you to gain unlimited on-demand access to the video. Teams and fans can also benefit by receiving affordable access to the sport, whilst being rewarded for sharing and promoting the streams with cast credits.
Numerous high-profile sports organisations have joined Recast to broadcast their events, including the DP World Tour, the European Cricket Network, The Curling Channel, Beach Soccer and English Premier League football club, Manchester City.
Funds generated through this pay-per-view system allow Badminton Scotland to begin producing high-quality match coverage.

Replays of the EMTCQ2022 are now available on the Badminton Scotland Channel, and fans will soon find new content there.

The Badminton Scotland Channel is our channel hosted on Recast. All Badminton Scotland content will be available on this channel, including live coverage and replays of specific events and other video on demand content in the near future.
First, you should go on the Recast website, and create a profile on the platform. Once your profile is created, you can start watching matches on The Badminton Scotland Channel.
When you go on the Recast website, click on “Join” in the top right corner of the front page. On the next page, click on the human emoji to create your profile on Recast. It is free of charge and all you need is your mobile phone number, your email address and a password.
Alternatively, you can create your profile using your Facebook or Google login. Once you have signed up, you will receive a verification code via SMS. Upon verifying your profile, you can start using Recast. You will be rewarded with 25 cast credits when you sign up.
We launched our channel with high-quality broadcast coverage from the European Mixed Team Championships Qualifier.
Each match at the EMTCQ cost 100 cast credits (which equals 1 GBP). A one-time purchase of any match allows the viewer unlimited access to the video (on demand viewing).
Cast credits are Recast’s currency. You will be rewarded with 25 cast credits when you sign up to the platform. You can purchase further credits on the platform or earn them by watching ads, sharing content, or by inviting friends with your invitation code who then join Recast.
Log into your Recast profile, and go into your wallet. There, you can purchase more cast credits using a credit or debit card or Apple or Google Pay.
You can find Recast in the Google Play store. The Apple App Store version is in development and will be available soon. Recast is a progressive web app, so you can access it from any device (smart phone, tablet, notebook) and you can add it to your home screen like any other app.
You can watch Recast content on your TV either by connecting your laptop via a cable to your TV, using Google Chromecast or Apple Airplay.
